----The Last Roundup Comments
This CD is possibly one of the best live recordings ever released, it is the best live Poco available anywhere!!! Thank You very much for such a wonderful present. For 62 minutes and 56 seconds today, I was back in the seventies . . . Trying to remember the last time my first listen to a CD gave me chills . . . John, thanks a lot for making this happen . . . Should get your name on a list somewhere for a "liner notes" Grammy . . .

I think if I could only own one piece of music this would probably be on the short list, it's that good!

Great job, John, on both the sound and artwork. Thanks for all the legwork necessary to get this out to the public!

John, thank you ever so much for all of your efforts. I've just received mine today when I got home from work. What a treat to find in the mail along with all the offers for credit cards, bills, and "have you seen me" leaflets. Right now I'm on my 3rd run through and I think this just may become my all time favorite album. Brings back so many memories of going to shows and the innocence of a lost age when I was much younger and less of the cynic I've become in recent years. Again thanks and Thank You Poco!

John.... just to let you know from all Poconuts that your hard work is very appreciated. The Holy Grail, as all of us have called it was a dream for many Poco fans. You took that dream, pursued it, and made it a reality. It's not only a reality, but a great permanent piece of Poco history now that really captures the essence of the band from an era. The great vocals, instrumentals, and energy exuded by Poco on this CD is a prime example of why so many of us are here. You brought memories that many of us had to life in a recording that should rank as one of the great live recordings of that era. Everything from the artwork to the production of the CD was done totally first class. You should be proud of your efforts.

My TLR copy finally came today and I am listening now. They were right about calling it "The Holy Grail"! Thank you John Thaler.

Thanks for all of your efforts John.... made me feel like I was 17 and sitting in Central Park again! GREAT STUFF!!!

Got my roundup cd today also...already listened to it twice...its as good as you guys have always said...brought a tear to my eyes for some reasons...these guys are great and deserve ever bit to be in the rock n roll hall of fame...thanks mr thaler....

Received my copy in today's mail. Listening to it brings back fond memories of seeing POCO at places like Winterland and the Cow Palace in San Francisco in the 70's. Makes me feel like a kid again. Makes for 'A good feeling ya know'. Yeah, that's the ticket. Thanks to the band for some great music and to John Thaler for helping get it released.

I got mine yesterday and I'm on my third listening. It does bring back memories doesn't it. And to know that the band is still going strong, and to hear from George today. What a great day to be alive.

Received my copy today. I am stoked. A++++++++++ Great Job John, the mix is very good, Thanks to the guys for just being the best all around group there is. It is however bittersweet, George's drumming and singing is 2nd to none. It brought a tear to my eyes just knowing he is most likly through. I cannot fathom such a thing. What voices, what musicianship. I remember being there for this concert, and as it always was, they were way too good.

Wow!!! WOW!!! WOWWOWWOW!!! This is an awesome CD. Didn't they sound great with all their road warrior stuff. Bigger sound then the current shows ... Oh I remember the days ... this will be playing constantly. I better make a copy for when I wear it out.

Good job John, you really did the guys justice. Good mix, and I'm loving every minute of it. Thanks again Bro.
IT IS WELL WORTH THE WAIT. 27 years plus. Thanks POCO!!!!! Thanks John!!!!!

This disc brings me great joy and anger. It proves once again that POCO was and still is the best… It really proves POCO to be a great concert band.

I think if I could only own one piece of music this would probably be on the short list, it's that good!

The one and only time I ever saw Poco was back in this time period, 76 or 77. Didn't have the orchestra, but it was the best show I have ever seen. TLR captures the energy of their shows. I gotta get to one of their concerts soon.

Absolutely awesome recording! Could this be the longest overdue release in the history of Rock and Roll? Perhaps that is in and of itself noteworthy for the Rock & Roll hall of Fame to include POCO. Not to mention the perfect performances of all the band members. I think I like just about every song BETTER than the studio versions!

The Last Roundup has arrived north of the 49th and all I can say is WOW. Thanks to Futuredge and John Thaler, you did a great job.

---Info for TLR

Recorded live in July 1977 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium during the Indian Summer tour, The Last Roundup was the brainchild of the band, not of its record company. The recording captures Poco at a time when the music industry was changing from creative to corporate with format dictated to artists by bean counters requiring songs no longer than 3:30 and containing catchy hooks. Poco refused to play the corporate game, instead choosing material from Country to Pop to Rock and even to a little Disco. Critics claim that Poco’s greatest contribution comes from blending folk and country tunes with traditional rock arrangements and combining rock tunes with traditional country arrangements. The Last Roundup drives home this point. Featuring Rusty Young, Paul Cotton, George Grantham and Timothy B. Schmit, and with a special appearance by Richie Furay, it doesn’t get any better than this.
